Allianz Cancer Protect is a cancer insurance plan offered by Allianz Insurance Singapore. It pays you a lump sum if you're diagnosed with cancer, plus 12 months of additional monthly income to help cover living expenses during treatment. The policy covers both major cancers and early-stage (non-invasive) cancers, giving you financial support when you need it most.
Critical illness insurance covers many serious conditions (heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, etc.) including cancer. Cancer insurance like Allianz Cancer Protect focuses specifically on cancer and typically offers higher payouts for cancer diagnoses at a lower premium. If cancer is your main concern—especially given Singapore's high cancer rates—a dedicated cancer plan can provide more targeted protection alongside your existing coverage.
You can purchase Allianz Cancer Protect if you hold a valid Singapore identification document (NRIC, Employment Pass, Work Permit, LTVP, Student Pass, or Dependent's Pass) and are living or working in Singapore.
Age limits: 18-65 for new policies, up to 79 for renewals. You can also cover your spouse and children (30 days to 18 years old, or up to 24 if full-time students). Parents, parents-in-law, and siblings cannot be added to your policy—they would need their own.
Allianz Cancer Protect covers two categories:
- Major Cancer — All malignant tumours confirmed by biopsy, including leukaemia, lymphoma, and sarcoma. You receive a lump sum payout plus 12 months of monthly income.
- Non-Invasive Cancer — Early-stage cancers including carcinoma in situ, early prostate cancer, early thyroid cancer, early bladder cancer, early melanoma, and early chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. You receive a smaller lump sum payout.
Note: Some very early-stage conditions are excluded (e.g., cervical dysplasia CIN-1/2/3, prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia). Refer to the Policy Wording for the full list.
Yes. Allianz Cancer Protect includes a Non-Invasive Cancer Benefit that covers early-stage cancers such as carcinoma in situ, early prostate cancer, early thyroid cancer, and early melanoma. This is important because many cancers are now detected early through screening. If you later develop major cancer, your Major Cancer Benefit payout will be reduced by any Non-Invasive Cancer Benefit already paid.
Yes. There is a 90-day waiting period from your policy start date. Any cancer diagnosed—or showing signs or symptoms—within the first 90 days is not covered. This waiting period applies to new policies only, not renewals. After 90 days, you're fully covered for the rest of your policy term.
Premiums depend on your age and coverage level. Allianz Cancer Protect premiums increase as you enter different age bands at renewal. Payment can be made monthly or annually. No medical examination is required, but you'll need to answer 2-3 health questions during application. Get a quote at www.allianz.sg or call +65 6222 1919.
- Notify Allianz within 30 days of your cancer diagnosis
- Complete a claim form — Allianz will provide this after you notify them

Important: You must survive at least 14 days from the date of diagnosis for benefits to be payable.
Yes. Claims from other insurance companies—including critical illness policies—do not affect your Allianz Cancer Protect payout. You receive the full benefit regardless of what other insurers pay you. However, you can only hold one Allianz Cancer Protect policy per person.
